We have been talking lots of walks to the lake with the dog while the weather is nice. It has been SO BEAUTIFUL that we just want to be outside after a long winter. Karsten loves to be outside and just looks all around which makes it nice to have her out quite a bit. She is just a happy baby.

I can sit up!!!

BIG GIRL! I can finally fit into my 3 month onesies that all of my family made for me at my Bakersfield baby shower. Thanks Great Aunts Leslie and Derrilyn.

Karsten's first time in the Bumbo seat. We cannot believe that she can sit up on her own in it already! Her legs, feet, hands and arms are constantly moving these days.

My sister Jen told me that I had to venture out to Wailea and try the Lemon Drop Martini at the Four Seasons Hotel as it was the best she had ever tasted. Mom and I took her up on the suggestion and enjoyed our YUMMY drinks at the pool bar at 10:30 in the morning! Hey, it's 5 o'clock somewhere...right?

Karsten's first trip to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Jimmy Buffett would be proud! And yes, we did have ours with "...lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes."

Happy Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day was spent in Maui, Hawaii with my mom and Bill along with many of my Aunts and Uncles. It was an amazing day and a blessing to be in paradise!

We were due to go to Hawaii at this time last year but we had to cancel. We kept hearing from friends that 2-3 months of age was the best time to take kiddos on a trip so we decided to give it a whirl and try for Hawaii again. Karsten was AMAZING on the 2 plane rides and slept pretty much the entire time. She only woke up to eat and then talked to us for a bit and then snooze time again. People on the plane seated by us commented on what a good baby she was. We are truly blessed!

This picture was the morning of day 2. We were not on the right time zone and woke up at 4 am Hawaii time so we were on the beach for a VERY early walk!

Yeah Spring!!!

We finally have had some nice weather to help all of our bulbs bloom. It looks beautiful in the neighborhood with all of the green grass and flowers blooming. We are looking forward to steady nice weather so that we can plant flowers in the hanging baskets and flower pots.

Talking to Fishies

Karsten is getting to like her bouncy seat more and more. She loves watching the fishies and starfish move around and especially likes the bubbles. Today she decided to talk to them. VERY CUTE!

Cinco de Mayo!

Karsten spent her first Cinco de Mayo with Grandpa, Daddy and Mommy hanging out at home. Daddy made his famous margaritas and mommy made fish tacos and yummy guacamole!

HOLY bighorns!

Uncle Craig just got back from a field trip in the Nevada desert for his geology classes. He found and dug up these OLD bighorn sheep horns. The ram must have been huge from the size of these things!

Go Padres!!!

Thanks Gramps and Lala for my new Padres t-shirt. I wear it proudly like all my older cousins have! Daddy got me dressed to go to cousin Richie's baseball game this morning, but I fell asleep at home and missed the whole game...bummer! Love, Karsten

Cool Chick!

Karsten was posing as a cool chick and getting ready for our trip to Hawaii! It will be the last hurrah before mommy heads back to work. We are very excited and cannot wait to show Karsten the beach. The shades are courtesy of her Gaga (Britt's mom).

Growing like a weed

Karsten had her 2 month checkup today and passed with flying colors. She weighs 11 lbs. 12 oz. and is 24" long. As far as the charts go, she is at the top end for height and weight. Her head at 15" is right in line. She was a champ with her shots and thankfully daddy was there to assist as mommy could not watch...NOT FUN!

At home we are enjoying some good weather for today and tomorrow...we take what we can get! It is sunny and in the mid 60s so that has been nice. We are looking forward to having Karsten outside more and more as the weather gets nicer. She loves to be outside which daddy and mommy love.
