The Birthday Girl!

Today was Karsten's First birthday party! She was very loved with many family members and friends in attendance. What a great mood she was in with kids all around and treats to eat. She dove right into her birthday cupcake and ate the ENTIRE thing! It was a special day, indeed!

Birthday Presents!

The weather was so beautiful and sunny warm today...in the end of February...so we decided to open presents on the front porch! HOW FUN-the kids were all out running around, playing in the grass, and just having a great time. Could a birthday get any better?

Karsten was crawling down the driveway to chase the kids and came to a screeching halt when she hit the dead grass...talk about a sensory feeling that she did NOT like! Guess we'll wait until it turns green and try again :-)

I love my toys!

It is so special for me to have my Great Grandparents as part of my life. Two of my favorite toys are from them!

Great Grandpa and Grandma I love my mailbox. I even know how to put the letters into the top all by myself. See look at me below. And then I clap for myself when the letter goes in!
Great Grandma Nancy-every day I make a beeline for my animal book. I even know to look for the white spot on the page to push down to make the animals make sounds! My favorite are the ducks and piggies. It makes me laugh when mommy and daddy make the oink sound :-)

Weekend Fun

We have been absolutely spoiled with beautiful, sunshiny weather for the past few weeks. It is amazing to think that we are washing cars in the driveway and walking outside without sweatshirts in February! But, after 3 winters of snow, snow, snow, we are enjoying the reprieve! Karsten has loved the many walks in her stroller and squeals when we take her out. We ventured to the shores of both Hayden Lake and Coeur d'Alene Lake as we walked on Saturday and Sunday. Great family time and good doses of sun and Vitamin D!

Karsten finally took a snoozer in her stroller. She was fussy for a bit, but we put the "greenhouse" or wind/rain cover over her and she quickly nodded off to sleep!

Mommy just couldn't resist bragging on her little one. She just looks so cute and grown up in her overalls. It is AMAZING how quickly they change!

Daddy Day Care

Happy President's Day. It is Daddy Day Care today as mommy had to go to work. These are the pictures that Daddy sent to Mommy at work-they made her laugh pretty hard! We are having fun at home, at least I am! Daddy tells Mommy that I have been in to everything. Guess my teachers at school keep me pretty BUSY! Mmmmm daddy, fishie lips!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my loves! Notice my cute dress. It was made by my Great, Great Aunt and it helped me to receive LOTS of compliments from everyone at church this morning!

Life is getting pretty fun. I am cruising on the furniture and my new favorite thing is the red button on the TV. I just want to push the buttons on the remote all the time and I almost ordered a Pay Per View movie the other day. He he he...Mommy and Daddy chase me all the time :-)

Chris got into the pool with Karsten for her last swim lesson. She has done so amazingly well that the instructor told us that we do not need to enroll her in classes again until she is a bit older as she is already so comfortable in the water. Water babies mainly tries to get the kids used to splashing and not be scared in the pool. She has already gone under water, floats on her back and kicks/splashes with the rest of the 3 and 4 year olds!

Sunshiny Day!

It has been so incredibly beautiful this winter...mild and sunny. What a VERY welcome change from the past 3 winters! It was mid 40s today and very sunny so we took a family walk. The dog was dragging, Karsten was squealing and we all were just happy to get out and get some much needed Vitamin D :-) This was our pre-Super Bowl workout!

Surfs Up!

Grandma bought me a new bikini...my first one! Mommy and Daddy think it is a little risque, but I think I look pretty darn cute! I just need a place with warm weather and I'll be set :-)
