Peek-a-boo

Well let's just say that mommy needs to get a bit more sneaky if I am going to catch Karsten's milestone moments...I am a ROOKIE! We usually play peek-a-boo while changing her diapers and I never know if she "gets" it or not. Well low and behold-SHE DOES!

The past two nights at dinner time she has been in her highchair as we are talking with Daddy and she starts to play peek-a-boo by herself. I quickly realize that she is pulling her bib up over her eyes and say "Where's Karsten" and she pulls it down from her eyes and grunts to get our attention (her communication these days). I say "Peek-a-boo" and she just smiles and does it again.

Take two the next night, but that time it was with the place mat from the table. What a crack up! It is so fun to see her interact and respond to us :-) So needless to say each time I tried to get either the video camera or digital camera out she stopped playing. What a little smarty pants!

BUBBLES!!!!

Well today was Karsten's first bath with bubbles. She was a bit confused at first, but quickly learned how fun they could be! She even gave herself a little beard :-)
Whoa! What is more funny, the bubbles or the wicked hair?

A Little Trouble Brewing...

Thanks to Auntie Jenn I am "with it" this holiday season. I have new outfits to show how festive I am. My teachers at school LOVED my shirt that says "A Little Trouble Brewing"!

Idaho vs. Hawaii

Our next door neighbors are big Hawaii Warriors football fans (after living there for many years). We decided to host them for the Idaho vs. Hawaii football game and we had a great time. Even better...the Vandals won! We think this may turn into a tradition. We decided on a menu of surf and turf for the occasion so we had steak, twice baked potatoes, crab legs and lobster tails. YUMMY!!!!!

Yummy broiled lobster tails

Look at that Idaho pride!

Duckie bath time!

We outgrew the baby tub so we upgraded to the quacking duck.
You squeeze the beak and it quacks at you! Makes for SUPER FUN bath time :-)

Whoa, crazy hair! Oh, my feet taste pretty good too.
I just like to lay back and kick, kick, kick. Then I splash right
when Mommy and Daddy get close. Bath time is so fun!

Karsten love

Grandpa and Grandma love to play with Karsten.
She got a new toy, her gumball machine so she was showing them all about it!

Karsten LOVES to suck on Grandpa's nose...and if you look
close enough you can see the spit string from his nose!!!
Ohhh, Grandpa kisses are the best!

Happy Fall

Today we went to Greenbluff to celebrate fall and pick apples. This is one of our family's favorite yearly traditions. Karsten had a blast with her cousins and it was a good time had by all!
Sarah and Karsten. Can you say "twinsie cousins"?
Aunt Traci with her sweet girl.
Sarah, Tommy, Karsten and Richie
Tommy pickin' and Uncle Chris eatin'.
Karsten in her greenhouse...the wind was HOWLING about 40 miles an hour.
All giggles, such fun!
SO BIG!
She darn near got one off of the tree.
The happy family

Karsten goes to work!

Karsten came to visit Mommy at work today. My boss has 3 girls of her own and misses the baby phase so she asked for a "Baby Fix". We snapped this picture on her blackberry and then an email was sent out with the caption "Future lawyer, I can tell- she liked hearing me read the memos!"

Coeur d'Alene Komen Race for the Cure

Today was the 10th Anniversary of Coeur d'Alene's affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Each year in honor of breast cancer awareness there is a 5K race thru downtown Coeur d'Alene. We participated this year in honor of Mary Lou Piazza, who is the mother of our best friend, Nicci. We lost Mary Lou in January after battling cancer for a third time. Mary Lou was named as the Honorary Chairperson of the 10th Anniversary race and Nicci gave the opening address to all participants before the race started. She was AWESOME-her mom would be proud! We had special t-shirts made in honor of Mary Lou.
Nicci and Levi before the race.
Karsten wore a special onesie that said "In Loving Memory of Nana Lou".
That is what all of the grand kids called her.
She was decked out in every shade of pink!
Britt's dad and Chris's mom walked with us.
Chris ran and Britt walked 1/2 and then ran the last 1/2.
