Cousin Tommy's Birthday Party

Today was Tommy's birthday party at the jump castle place. Karsten was a bit pensive as first, but watched closely and once Richie took her into one and played with her, she was hooked! There were about 7 different jump castles with slides, steps to climb on and things to climb thru and dodge. They had such a blast and talk about good exercise-she was red-faced and sweating the entire time :-)

Playing Dress Up

Karsten has been blessed with gifts that are hand knit from her Great Aunt Jeannie and Great Grandma Nancy in California. It never fails...most nights after she gets her jammies on it is time to model for us! She just loves to play dress up with the various items. The blue outfit is a new one and she found the white hat and pink bag and had to show those off too!

Karsten loves to bring the chair over to the counter and watch Mommy and Daddy cook.

We tried to get a picture of Karsten from the from to show you her new apron that Aunite Lizz made for her for Valentine's Day, but she was too busy with her A, B, Cs to cooperate.

The apron is SO CUTE and the fabric is Karsten's FAVORITE...Fancy Nancy! She wears the apron often while playing kitchen.

A Heart for Abby

Karsten received a valentine picture in the mail from her cousin Abby. In the picture Abby had a red heart on her shirt. Karsten realized this morning that she had a purple heart on her shirt. She wanted to send a picture of herself to Abby.

Miss Manners

So we have been teaching Karsten about manners and using please, thank you, etc. She has a book about Elmo that teaches about manners that she loves to read. She laughs continually about the page where Elmo's mouth is WIDE open and he is burping. She has learned to day "excuse me" after she burps.

Now go on a ride with me... we are in the car on the way home from school and work the other day. Karsten is just singing along with her music when we are about 3 houses away from ours and I hear so sweetly from the backseat, "toot toot, es cuse me!"

Now how do you keep a straight face for that one? I chuckled to myself, smiled, turned and looked at her and said, "Very nice manners, Karsten."

Cousin Sarah's birthday party

Karsten got a special invitation to her cousin Sarah's 10th birthday party. A hotel SWIM party!
The best part was the make your own sundae bar. Uncle Rich helped her make a gigantic one. K's favorite part was dipping M&M's into the whipped cream.

Dress Up Time

On our doorstep this week were some bags of hand-me-down clothes from some friends. Days later Karsten out of the clear blue started digging thru the clothes and found a pretty dress that she LOVED. Too bad it doesn't fit her. But that did not stop her from modeling it, along with some other accessories. This went on for 3 days in a row...

Day 1: Jammies, polka dot dress, princess high heels, waffle and green beans-need I say more?

Day 2: She found the pretty overcoat to accessorize her two sets of polka dots!

Day 3: Twirling like a pro! Is dance in our future?

Now look at that salute-perhaps we have a gymnast in the making?

Etch-a-Sketch

Daddy and Karsten were playing around with the Etch-a-Sketch and making funny faces. It was cute to hear the laughter and the pleas to erase and do it AGAIN.
