Aunt Emily visits

Our very good friend Emily "Becker" Potter came to visit on her way back home to Idaho Falls. This was her first time meeting Karsten which was very fun! She made the round thru the whole state visiting family and friends. We were lucky to be her last stop on her trek and had a great time catching up. This is the last time that we will see Em for a while as she is moving to South Africa with her husband. He is from there and after marrying and looking for work in the states for almost a year as a helicopter pilot they decided to take an adventure and live in S.A. for a year. Gregg, her husband, is flying for the Red Cross in Northeastern S.A. It is was so good to see her as we will miss her dearly!

We attended a cousin's wedding on the Spokane River in Post Falls. Beautiful weather and a good day for a family picture!

We were so lucky to have two sets of Great-Grandparents visit over the summer. Chris still has both sets of his grandparents so it has been nice for Karsten to get to know them. She just explored the new faces and charmed the pants off of everyone!

Hot Summer Days

It has been HOT, HOT, HOT here so we decided to head to the lake after work to cool off. Gaga and Papa met us there and Karsten had some fun putting her toes in the water with Gaga. Hannah swam in the water with Daddy too.

Great Grandma Nancy visits!

Great Grandma Nancy came to visit for a week and we had a great time with her. She played cards with Chris, got to play every night with Karsten and have BBQ burgers, steaks, you name it-all week long! She had a great time and beautiful weather and we cannot wait until she can visit again.

Boating Fun with Auntie Jenn

This afternoon/evening we went out on Hayden Lake to go for a boat ride. It was very enjoyable and the weather was nice. Karsten had some fun time with Auntie Jenn!

Karsten was so big today and got her ears pierced. She was such a trooper and just cried for a few minutes and then she was fine. She got her binkie and life was good. It was no big deal and she fell asleep in the car on the way home! Kids are quite resilient :-)

Ya hoo-the slip and slide!

We had a great 4th of July weekend with lots of family in town. We hosted a BBQ on Friday right in time for the blistering hot weather, thus the slip and slide. I am not sure who had more fun, the kids on the slide or the parents laughing at them!

On Saturday Karsten to a 3 hour nap and slept thru the parade so we missed that. But we had a BBQ at Grandpa and Grandma Towerys house to spend time with Uncle Craig and Aunt Kimi who were in town for the festivities. We watched fireworks from our backyard and a great time was had by all.

Summer thunderstorm

This evening after dinner we had the most amazing summer thunderstorm. The lightening was all across the sky and the thunder was booming. SOOOO COOOOOL!

This cute little camo onesie came from our friends Chris and Jill Murphy.

Chris is former Army so it is apropos that they would provide camo gear for Karsten!
