Some of the most special times are watching Karsten spend time with her grandparents. This weekend she got some quality time with Gramps and Lala. How about some silly stories before bed time?

Fish Tacos Anyone?
After the trek to the beach we just HAD to make a stop at Rubio's for some famous fish tacos. Once again they did not disappoint. Yet another stop that is a *MUST* when in San Diego!

A Day at the Beach!
YAHOOOO! We got to visit the beach today at Del Mar in San Diego. What a magnificent day as we soaked up the sun and played away. Karsten had a blast with her cousin Abby and made sand castles with Gramps and Lala. We even had a special visit from Emily one of our special peeps from Idaho. A fabulous day for sure!

BBQ at Brook & Josh's
After fun at Gramps and Lala's house we made our way to my cousin Brook's house for a bbq. It was so fun to see our kids play with their cousins the way that we did when we were kids. Karsten LOVED playing with Chloe's toys and especially swimming in the pool. It was perfect weather, great company, good food and fun all around!

Memorial Day
Today Karsten and I were blessed to be able to visit the cemetery to pay our respects to Great Papa and Baboo for their service to our country. What a special day to be surrounded by beautiful blue skies, American flags waving everywhere and people graciously visiting those that have gone before us. It forms a lump in my throat thinking of what these soldiers have done for our country in providing the freedoms that we all too often take for granted. It was a humbling visit to say the least and I loved that Karsten was able to be there too.

Play Time with Cousin Abby!
We arrived in San Diego to warm, sunny weather. After a little nap in the car from the airport to Gramps and Lala's house, Karsten was primed and ready to see Abby. Karsten walked right up to Abby and gave her a big hug and they were off...running, squealing, having so much fun together. Auntie Lizz gifted the girls with matching sunhats and cute dresses so the girls tried out the hats while playing in the dirt.

Prayers Needed
All, could you please be praying for a sorority sister and college friend of mine, Renata Winters. She is 33 years old with a 3 year old daughter and was just diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer that has spread into her liver. She lives in the Lewiston/Clarkston area, but is currently in Seattle discussing treatment options with oncologists and praying for wisdom and a miracle.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

Time for Planting!
Today was the day-FINALLY! Chris planted part of the garden with his trusty sidekick Karsten. She could possibly be the dirtiest girl I have ever met in my life. Two outfits later, running thru the dirt in her socks, barefoot, with sandals on, you name it-she does it! She and nature have a very close relationship. WE LOVE IT!

You Know You Are Domestic When...
You get totally excited over a new kitchen item! Now this is not just ANY item-this is a 6 quart enamel dutch oven...can you say SSWWWEEEETTTTT!!!!!!! I am SO EXCITED over this, can you tell? You see, I love to cook, that is no secret, but I also like to make things as simple as possible as I do not do dishes-that is my lovely husband's job (smooch, honey)! So this new dutch oven is a one pot cooker. And yes, you can use it on the stove to prepare the ingredients and then transfer to the over to cook the remainder of the time...did I mention how cool this thing is? But beware-it can be a bit tricky to get used to. This baby gets HOT and cooks quickly; I know, I know, it is cast iron, duh! And, how fun-it comes in fashionable colors like this red that matches my kitchen. Need I say more?

Simply WICKED!
In case you ever wondered...it is WICKED AWESOME! I was not sure what to expect and I have seen a few Broadway shows in my day, but WOW-I was blown away! What an amazing show and the traveling cast is simply phenomenal. We even had the understudy for Elphaba and she was spectacular. Wonder what the main star would have been like? If you every have the opportunity-GO SEE IT!
